  Brief History of the DepartmentS

Department OF HISTORY

            Sri Dasari Narayana Rao Degree College for Women, Palakol, West Godavari Distt. was established in the year 1982. The college has the distinction of being the first Government degree College for women in the district. Consistent with its motto “Aim High” the college strives to empower women by providing the education at affordable cost particularly to those hailing economically weakness sections from the rural areas.

          The Department was established 1-07-82 since there is only member in the department. He is accommodated in the common staff. The college made a humble beginning with a student strength of 45 offering B.A. and B.Com. courses with Telugu as the medium of teaching.

          The History Department was established in 01-07-1982.

Pioneers of the Department:

            Many eminent Lecture and experts had worked previously as a regular and part-time basis.
